President of the Mobility Services Sector, Member of the Group Executive Board and Chairman in Mahindra Logistics, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd
V S Parthasarathy (fondly known as Partha) is a man with multiple thinking hats and a global leader. VS Parthasarathy is the President of the Mobility Services Sector of Mahindra Group. This Sector encompasses all the mobility businesses within Mahindra, find bride review including Mahindra Logistics Ltd, the erstwhile aftermarket sector (Mahindra First Choice Wheels Ltd, Mahindra First Choice Services Ltd) and auto mobility services, including Glyd and Meru. The Sector will also leverage Mahindra’s investments in Porter and Zoomcar.
Partha is a member of the Mahindra Group’s supervisory board called ‘Group Executive Board’. He is the Chairman in Mahindra Logistics Ltd., Smartshift Logistics Solutions Pvt Ltd., and a Director on Board of several other listed companies of the Mahindra Group (including, Tech Mahindra, Mahindra Financials and CIE Automotive S.A. Spain).
Partha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an ACA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He is an alumni of Harvard’s Advanced Management Program – batch of 2011.Partha started his career with Modi Xerox as a Management Trainee and rose through the ranks to the appointment of Associate Director at Xerox.
Partha’s journey at M&M begun in 2000, with an HR stint where he brought about organizational transformation by working on their performance management system, policy deployment, strategic planning and journeyed through Deming Prize. He then spearheaded functions like Finance, M&A, IT and International Operations prior to his being appointed CFO of M&M in 2013.
Partha straddles diverse responsibilities with equal fervour. He is in his elements shaping the strategy of the companies he is involved in as a Director. He constantly reimagines leadership roles he is vested with at industry fora like President of BCCI (Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Chairman of FICCI CFO Council, and Association of Finance Profession of India (AFPI). He is also focused on professional excellence, continuous learning and developing young talent within the Group. He is passionate about building team spirit and encouraging innovations. He enjoys public speaking and manages to make time for interactions in industry forums for F&A, M&A and IT.
Partha and his wife, Jayashree, live in Mumbai and are blessed with two sons. He runs for Nanhi Kali (the Girl Child Education) at Mumbai Marathon as a Change Icon. He is an avid reader too. He often finds time to “stand and stare”, especially for reciting his favourite poems from Hindi literature or movies.

It is not just V S Parthasarathy’s professional title that sets him apart as a man of many reasons, he is also a man of many seasons in his non-professional life.
Partha (as he is called by friends and colleagues), lives a Maximum Life, taking a leaf out of the city he calls his home – Mumbai – the Maximum City.
On weekday early mornings, one is likely to run into Partha on his daily exercise routine at Worli Sea Face. Incidentally, Partha was recently felicitated for being the highest individual fundraiser in the history of Mumbai Marathon. Partha has been participating in this annual event for five years now, espousing the cause of education for the girl child on behalf of Nanhi Kali, a Naandi Foundation and K.C. Mahindra Education Trust initiative. Partha is extremely passionate about gender equality – he has been running the talk through his personal contribution in encouraging and eliciting more participation from society to bring about this change.
On weekends, Partha unwinds with some fine serves at the badminton court, post which he relishes his chai cuppa and a book. His personal library reflects his versatility in tastes and is not limited to just a scholarly collection but includes a wide variety of books. He is particularly passionate about mythology-based literature as he relishes reimagining the future in terms of mythological fables.
Partha is a gifted linguist and can converse in many languages including Tamil, Gujarati and Bengali. His love for poetry and shaayari is well known – he has the unique ability to find the most apropos quote or poem for any situation and placing them in business contexts for the greatest impact. He finds the time to “stand and stare”, to recite his favourite quotes and poems from Hindi literature or films.
Partha is rarely lost for word and can lighten any situation with his delightful humour and characteristic repartees. There is never a dull moment with Partha around as he loves being around people, particularly young people. He often finds himself mentoring youngsters, an activity he particularly enjoys.
Reiterating his relevance for all seasons, Partha is an avid traveller. Through his visits across over 50 countries in his tenure at Mahindra, he has absorbed the finer nuances of various cultures and imbibed learnings that he attempts to extrapolate in his daily life.
Partha has always followed the unbeaten path – even in his career trajectory he has set himself apart by making some extremely unique ‘hatke’ moves. He moved domains from HR to IT, rising to the position of CEO of International Operations. And in another unexpected move, he headed Group M&A and IT, which ultimately led him to the role of Group CFO and CIO!
Having participated in and overseen over 100 mergers and acquisitions transactions, it is easy to deduce Partha’s love for M&A. Partha is also a trailblazer in technology. He sees information technology as an inextricable part of business and was an early adopter and evangelist of IT in the Mahindra Group. He straddles the Finance and Technology portfolios at Mahindra Group with characteristic elan.
Partha has numerous other awards under his belt. He has adorned the Halls of Fame of multiple awards – ‘Hall of Fame Award, 2018’ by Yes Bank for Exemplary Financial Leadership and Industry Role Model, ‘CFO Hall of Fame’ from CFO India in 2014 for life time contribution to world of Finance and ‘Global CIO Hall of Fame, 2012’ by Information Week.
